A Gathering Place for Spiritual Growth
West End Collegiate Church is a visible, welcoming congregation that helps people love and understand God. Through worship, service and education, we seek to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Bible in today's world.
Picture yourself in a charming, historic Dutch Renaissance building on New York’s vibrant Upper West Side, while sunlight beams through deeply-hued stained glass, and strains of pipe organ and choir echo inspired music from Bach to Bobby McFerrin, Mozart to Meredith Monk, through-out the sanctuary.
Leadership by the Reverend Michael Bos provides dynamic positive spiritual direction.
Join us for worship (Sunday Mornings 11:00) and our many communal gatherings.
The Reverend Michael Bos The Reverend Michael Bos arrived at West End in November, 2009 after eight years as the Director of Al Amana Centre in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman. The Centre is a historic mission of the Reformed Church in America transformed by Rev. Bos into an ecumenical center that specializes in building bridges of understanding, trust and cooperation between people of different faiths and cultures.
Rev. Bos was raised in Michigan, received a B.S. in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, and a Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary. He did postgraduate study in Hebrew Scripture and the theology of religion at the Free University in the Netherlands, and doctoral work in Islam at the University of Exeter in England.
Rev Bos's first church leadership assignment was at a 3,500 member church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he eventually served as the Executive Pastor and a Teaching Pastor. Then he and his family moved to Dallas, Texas to begin a church from scratch. His vision was to create a church "for people who don't like church.” During the next seven years he grew the church to over 300 members.
Rev Bos brings his leadership and church growth experience to West End to foster the spiritual path of all.
